16 Clouders, 15 tracks.
Hi, everyone.
I’ve got a mix of music for you tonight. I’m sharing the sounds of 16 different SoundCloud artists, from different musical backgrounds, none of which I have featured on my blog previously, and all of which deserve some recognition. I considered posting them in separate posts, but felt it would be a nice experience to listen to them all in a row. So let me start!
First up is this glorious new track from Frantiszek, titled “Choose Your Way.” The track fuses breakbeat and trance in an atmospheric and ethereal coupling of sides, creating a technicoloured array of positive images and purposeful vibes. Really very nice! :)
Staying with electronica, D R O P L I T Z has a multitude of captivating tracks. His latest upload “Midnight Man,” embedded below, is a gripping dubhop track. The drop comes in around 1:00 and really pulsates the ears. It’s perhaps a bit more ambient than anything, which makes it actually pretty relaxing to listen to, which is great when you’re winding up for bed! Just don’t doze off before 2:10 in the track, or you might be rudely awakened ;)
Next, moving onto jhasuaeli, who isn’t such an active user, but one who has 6 special tracks. The track I’ve chosen to present to you below is called “Concordia - Jhasua Eli 2011” and is available for free download. It is a progressive house track which spans across a total of 8 minutes. It really is quite a pleasant soundscape, and one which I’m sure you will enjoy. This track is very uplifting, and is an instant favourite with me.
Enough electronica for now… let’s move onto some nice acoustic (I love some acoustic), and who better to showcase than RumourControl? :) “The Edge of the Light” (below) is a lovely laidback track with exquisite vocals and breathtaking melody. Ian is asking for people to suggest additions to the track, so why not drop him a comment? Have a listen!
Next up we have the delightful Olivier Maunick, who posts under the name Ollyv. The track below “Rouqine” is his first offering for 3 months, and what a beauty it is. This is a ballad with a rustic French feel, undoubtedly heart-wrenching, and delightful, this track needs some love, and is one of my favourite pieces on the ‘cloud :)
It is an absolute delight to bring the next track to attention. It is from one of my favourite artists on SoundCloud Kenetik, and is an acoustic/chill track titled “Helderberg.” It is beautifully constructed from multiple layers of goodness, and the mixing quality is just astounding. Wait for the 1:50 mark, because that’s where it really gets going in all of its beauty. ‘Cor, such a great track, seriously. :)
The next fella I may be introducing a few of you to is a chap called Simon Talbot. TheHaloStudioProject is a project which is in its demo stages currently, but he already has a few classic tracks. The track I’ve shared below “By My Side” features one of my favourite ‘clouders Zefora, and I really want you to listen to it! :) Interesting combo of vocals, and great backing.
OK, we’re back in the realm of electronica again… I always seem to work up back here! Starman Jones is a collaboration between Mathias Coomans and Pieter-Jan Theunis, who are a electronica duo. The piece below is a remix, and certainly worthy of a listen. Let them know what you think!
Moving onto another Belgian, one of my favourite and fast-rising SoundCloud buddies Peter Hulsmans has this delightful track to share with you. “Type 41” is a beautiful blend of ambient, vocals, beats and bass. From 1:25, Peter really lets the track grow as we all immerse ourselves in its splendour.
Again, another favourite of mine is CABANA, and there isnt a tune of hers that I don’t like. Sophie Cabana is passionate about music, and this is immediately evident in her contributions to the ‘cloud. Take a listen to this remix below, which, although short, will definitely make your evening if you love a bit of piano mixed in with some beats. :)
We’re coming close to the end of this blog post now, and I’ve got this cracker down here if you’ve scrolled down this far! Posted mid-November, “Gamble” by FaderVixen is an absolute cracker. It’s has a mesmeric feel to it in its simplicity, and sounds really clean and full of spirit. Check out the track below, and head to their profile to grab a copy of their début album “Transmitting Pulses” for free.
Next up, is a track from Mononome who creates music using an AKAI MPC 2500 and sampling old records. “While the Moon Drifts in the Sky” is hard to put into a sub-culture of music, but instrumental hip-hop seems to do it some justice. It’s truly unique, and a real dream to listen to. It’s really interesting to hear where these sounds originate from. :) Have a listen.
Switching things up a bit now, before I prefer to sign off for the night with this track from maserantes, which is a rock-styled treat! “No Reality” features a strong fixed beat, great guitar work, and just gives off that impression that he really loves producing music. There are some lovely guitar lines within this. Let him know what you think. Track below.
The penultimate artist who I wish to feature is stevenmanuel from the great land of Canada (I miss that place!). He has only shared one track to date, which is a shame, because “Get On” is an absolute stunner. It features a nice piano line, some nice instrumental sections, and all-in-all is arranged fantastically. Really looking forward to hearing more from this guy! :)
Lastly, I am sharing with you the sounds of kawanabehiroki who really rocks this acoustic track. It’s absolutely glorious to be able to hear his sounds from Tokyo. This one has a real homey feel to it. A track you’d expect to hear when you’ve had a few friends over, and maybe a few drinks too. Really upbeat, and it even includes a kazoo. You can never lose with a kazoo! Haha. Take a listen, fave the track, let him know you love it. :D
Well, thanks for popping in. That’s all for tonight on the blog, let me know if you like this longer post format, or whether you’d prefer my shorter updates! Let me know either on SoundCloud or my Facebook. Goodnight!
